Shirts are great. They are a real must-have for any wardrobe (I personally own over 10!) , and one of the most versatile pieces you can have. The ‘boyfriend shirt’, named due to its relaxed and looser fit, looks equally chic on the beach over a bikini as half-tucked in with skinny jeans and a leather jacket.
Due to the oversized fit, they are best layered open over a tank top or t-shirt, and loosely tucked into trousers or shorts. There are a number of great independent and high street options available, and a good quality shirt will last for years.
My personal favourites are a small London-based brand called With Nothing Underneath (also a firm favourite of Megan Markle!) who do great quality and affordable shirts in a variety of materials and colours. I love the Sky blue and white stripe linen and the WNU weave in white.
I also love the high street offerings from Levis, Arket and Uniqlo, for strong good quality options that won’t break the bank! I personally own one from all 3 (and from WNU) and they have lasted me for years and never go out of style.
