Since the government’s announcement on 24th June, face coverings are now mandatory in all shops and enclosed public spaces within the UK. So if we’re going to be wearing an extra piece of clothing, might as well make it a good one!
Luckily lots of designers have jumped on board with the face masks and there is already a great offering of stylish (yet still practical and safe) masks available.
As always, with so many options to choose from how do you find the best offerings?! In comes our Edit - our top picks of the current cloth face masks currently available to buy online.
My personal favourites are the offerings from British Fashion Council’s initiative with British Designers, ‘Great British Designer Face Coverings: Reusable, for People and Planet’, is a joint campaign with Bags of Ethics, to manufacture and retail internationally, sustainable and reusable non-medical face coverings to use alongside existing social distancing measures. Designed in London by six British designers, Halpern, Julien Macdonald, Liam Hodges, Mulberry, RAEBURN and RIXO the project aims to raise £1 million with 100% of sale profits going to charity and split between NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal, BFC Foundation Fashion Fund and Wings of Hope Children’s Charity.
I also love the offering from Evolve Together in NYC where, for every mask purchased, they donate a mask to help protect Black Lives Matter Protesters and homeless youth.
